DC Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery
A U.S. Historic District, the DC Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery & Archives is located on 10 acres in western South Dakota. Set in Spearfish, the hatchery was established in 1896, and today is managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery is also known as the Spearfish Fisheries Center, Spearfish Fisheries Complex, and the Spearfish National Fish Hatchery.
The hatchery produces 20,000 to 30,000 rainbow trout annually, while the grounds feature the Von Bayer Museum of Fish Culture, the Collection Management Facility, and the Booth House.
